This mod adds a development path for XCOM soldiers in the Guerrilla Training School, allowing them to train special perks that benefit the entire squad. But only one leader at a time can go on a mission, so be careful whom you select for the training!

Notes: A soldier must be sergeant rank or greater to train as a leader. Each additional rank above sergeant in their primary classes enables them to train one additional leader level. Each leader level must be trained in the Guerilla Tactics School.

Soldiers entering leader training will have their primary weapon unequipped so others may use it. This mod also clears the current squad to enforce the one-leader-per-mission mechanism; it adds an autofill button that will autoselect your top soldiers in a new squad.

NOTE: IF after an update you are getting issues, you should exit the game and REGENERATE YOUR INI files by deleting all files in \Documents\My Games\XCOM2\XComGame\Config. These will be recreated on your next game start. (Additional tip: You can preserve your options settings by NOT deleting XComEngine.ini in this directory.) DO NOT LOAD THIS MOD WITH LONG WAR 2. Its features are already incorporated.

im surprised the mod OP does not come and fix the game breaking bug.

Update 2: Permanent fix to the bug where your soldier is stuck training in the officer school section of the GTS, and you cannot cancel it, or train other soldiers.

You have to let your stuck soldier complete their training, then, delete the GTS from your facilities list, then spawn in a new one via console commands.

After that, you are free to train more officers, from start to finish, and cancel their training to replace them with another, whenever you feel like it.

Hope this helps you all out. I had the idea pop into my head when I struggled to get this mod working, so I hope this spares you guys the headache.

Update: For anyone experiencing the soldier stays stuck in officer training even after the training is finished glitch, I have found a temporary work around.

This is janky, but, it works.

In order to advance your soldier's officer / leader training, you need to use console commands.

First, enable console commands for Xcom2.

Then, train one of your soldiers to be a squad leader.

After that, you need to destroy your guerrilla tactics school.

Then, use console commands to spawn a new GTS.

This is the command : givefacility officertrainingschool 4

That number 4 represents which facility block the building will go in. Top left is 3, top middle is 4, top right is 5, and so on.

This will let you skip the 28 days building queue. After that, use console command "additem supplies 125" to cover the expense of upgrading the GTS to train officers.

And there you have it. A janky work around, but a work-around none the less.

This mod still does not work - I only have the conflict with Robojumper's squad select.

Here is the bug - lets me pick one soldier for Leader Training - but, once selected, that soldier stays stuck in that slot. I cannot cancel his training, nor have another soldier train for leadership.

Really unfortunate bug. Anyone got a fix yet?

When I used mine, it said that " <blank name>" was training to be a squad leader. I've tried to cancel their training but it doesn't work. If someone is willing to help, I can send a screenshot
